Wild Weaving Camp
12th- 19th August 2018
Join us for a week in West Wales, where we’ll be making camp on a piece of land owned by the Cambrian Wildwood Trust with great plans to re-wild and reforest their 300 acres.
We’ll make camp by the river in this stunning valley.
During the camp we’ll cover-
Frame baskets using willow
Coiled baskets using melinia grasses growing wild around our camp
Willow bark containers
Plaiting and weaving with moss
We’ll also harvest wood to make fire by friction and go on a wild plant walk.
There is lots of space to be creative and intuitive with the materials we gather.
We’ll go through sustainable and effective ways of harvest the materials so that you can go home and continue weaving beautiful, functional and unique containers.
Renowned Welsh storyteller Gwylem will be joining us one night around the fire to tell us stories from deep in the history of the local area.
All meals will be cooked on the fire, do your best to leave screen technology behind and sink into the peace and creativity that this incredible valley is humming with.
All food and materials are provided
